Allegra Glinsky - Founder, Director

Allegra Glinsky is the Founder and Director of Brooklyn Dance Conservatory in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Wellness from Mercyhurst University and is an ABT® Certified Teacher in Pre-Primary through Level 6/7 and Partnering through the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.
Ms. Glinsky began her ballet training at the Lake Erie Ballet School under the direction of Lesley Bories-Scalise before continuing at Erie Dance Conservatory Company under the direction of Sarah Purvis. She has also studied at Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico under the direction of Carlotta Carrera and attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
As a performer, Ms. Glinsky danced professionally with Dance Cat-alyst, a soul-driven contemporary dance company led by choreographer Cat Manturuk. The company is known for its signature Mod-Hop-Jazz style, a dynamic, high-energy movement approach that seamlessly blends contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance techniques. As a choreographer, Ms. Glinsky has presented works all over the country including the Regional Dance America Festival where she was selected to attend Regional Dance America's National Choreography Intensive as an Emerging Choreographer. Several of her works have received awards.
Ms. Glinsky has taught ages 1 - adult classes extensively throughout New York. In addition to directing Brooklyn Dance Conservatory, she oversees the school's growing daycare enrichment program, bringing dance education to children throughout the city.
Ms. Glinsky founded Brooklyn Dance Conservatory to provide exceptional dance education in a nurturing environment where students develop artistry, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of dance. As an educator, she is passionate about creating engaging, developmentally appropriate classes that encourage children to explore, imagine, and express themselves. Her patient and innovative teaching style allows each student to be seen as an individual, fostering their unique strengths while supporting growth both physically and emotionally. She strives to create a joyful and supportive atmosphere at Brooklyn Dance Conservatory where children can learn, create, and thrive during their most formative years.
Davonna Batt - Teacher
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Davonna fell in love with dance at an early age. She received a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Arizona with Honors, Summa Cum Laude, and with great pleasure has immersed herself in several styles of dance while studying under many exceptional artists. Since moving to New York in 2014, she has performed and collaborated with a diverse array of dance companies and artists. Along the way, Davonna discovered a love for teaching, and continues to find absolute joy in encouraging dancers, and movers of all ages to discover power, control, and expression in their bodies and minds. She teaches with a somatic approach that invites curiosity, encourages focused technique, and stimulates creativity. When it comes to teaching kids, her favorite part is seeing their faces and bodies light up with excitement and pride when they discover what they are capable of.

Grace Walker - Teacher

Grace is a Virginia native who began her dance training at a young age in ballet, tap, and jazz. While earning her B.S. in Forensic Science at George Mason University, Grace danced with and choreographed for her school’s concert dance troupe, DanceWorks at Mason. After graduation, Grace entered the concert dance scene in Washington, D.C., where she performed in every major D.C. arts festival and had the opportunity to collaborate with a talented array of artists. She recently relocated to Brooklyn to further her training and study from the best. Grace has been teaching dance for a decade, and is passionate about providing young dancers a solid foundation focused on musicality, precision, and physiology. She encourages all of her students to be curious, embrace challenges, enjoy the process, and celebrate the small victories.
Clea Calvin - Teacher
Jumpstarting her career at age 12, Clea Calvin moved from her hometown in Florida to Moscow, Russia to begin training at The Bolshoi Ballet Academy where she studied in the Russian program. This launched her professional career at age 16 as a Demi-Soloist with the Saint Petersburg National Ballet Theater and Opera. While home, Clea began teaching a range of dance styles to students ages 1–18, forming lasting connections through classes, intensives, and private training, and eventually took on the role of full-time ballet mistress, developing a Vaganova-based curriculum tailored even to the youngest dancers. Clea brings warmth, knowledge of early childhood development, and a deep love of movement to her teaching. She now leads workshops and drop-in classes across the U.S. and Canada, sharing the technical and historical depth of dance in a joyful, accessible way.

Beatriz Castro - Teacher

Beatriz Castro was born and raised in Costa Rica, and is currently based in Brooklyn. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a BFA in Dance and BA in Business. She is a part of Spark Movement Collective and Verbal Animal and has presented her choreographic work at the National Theater of Costa Rica, GreenSpace, Triskelion Arts, and Arts on Site. She has performed works by Earl Mosley, Anthony Morigerato, Chase Brock, Tami Stronach, and Sidra Bell. Beatriz is also a Yoga Alliance certified teacher and has taught in studios across New York City and New Jersey. She loves to connect with people through her passion for movement.
Ava Auffret - Teacher
Ava Auffret is a dancer, performer, and teacher based in New York City. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Ava trained at Menlo Park Academy of Dance. Ava has been part of the Professional Training Program at PMT House of Dance for the past two years and is currently rehearsing with Querencia Dance. With a passion for both performance and education, Ava is eager to bring her dedication, artistry, and love of dance into the classroom.

Natasha Corbie - Teaching Assistant

Natasha Corbie tackles projects with an entrepreneurial spirit, helping create timeless spaces that reflect their singularity with her extensive background in visual and performing arts & design. Native to Trinidad, Natasha walks in many worlds and is at home in all of them. Natasha was Assistant Aerial Choreographer for the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and has worked with Haitian choreographer, Peniel Guerrier, both as a dancer and teacher for many years. She is also a certified Participatory Arts and Somatic Research Educator, has worked with Kids for Positive Change, and once raised $10,000 for Haiti just by selling cookies. She supports her local neighborhood in Brooklyn daily.
Madison Mazovec - Teacher
Madison Mazovec is a New York City-based dancer and educator. She received her BFA in Dance from Fordham University in partnership with The Ailey School, with a minor in Business Administration. Her performance credits include featured roles in works by esteemed choreographers such as Gabe Katz, Clifford Williams, Kate Skarpetowska, Annie Rigney, and Christopher Huggins. She has performed at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, New York City Center with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Memoria, and internationally through Orsolina28 programs with Crystal Pite, Medhi Walerski, and the London Contemporary Dance School. Madison is trained in Ballet, Horton, Graham, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop. Madison is passionate about cultivating strong, expressive dancers and brings professional insight and creative energy to every class she teaches.

Jacqueline Estrada - Teaching Assistant

Jacqueline Estrada is a Brooklyn-based dance artist originally from Los Angeles, California. She began her dance training at an early age with Southern California Dance Academy. Driven by her passion for dance and choreography, she later moved to New York to further her training, studying with programs and institutions such as Ailey Extension and Broadway Dance Center. Jacqueline is CPR certified and is thrilled to share her love of dance while helping students build confidence through strong technical fundamentals.
Liron Kichler - Teacher
Liron Kichler is a New York–based dancer, choreographer, and instructor working at the intersection of movement, music, and theater. She has performed with companies including Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Fresco Dance Company, Staatsoper Berlin, Habima Theater, and Cameri Theater, and collaborated with William Forsythe and Idan Sharabi. She also performed as a dancer at the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Netta Barzilai. Since 2019, her solo works Give Me a Break, My Moon is Made of Plastic, and Not Much Space Left have been presented internationally at festivals such as the Internationales Solo Tanz Theater Festival Stuttgart, SoloDue Festival Gdansk, and AS IS Festival. Her latest solo, Pull Myself Together, premiered in New York at Arts on Site. She also performed and choreographed for the opera Die Passagierin in Germany. Liron completed her education with the Royal Academy of Dance, earning distinctions, and studied at the School of Visual Theater

Kailan Brooks - Teaching Assistant

Kailan is originally from the Bay Area, California. She started training in hip hop at the age of 4, and has long been a part of the youth competitive team, Krazy8, traveling throughout California for urban dance competitions, including Hip Hop International. At age 11, she started competing in jazz and contemporary at West Coast Dance Conservatory and later at Bay Area Dance School, and has since been training extensively in ballet, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and other styles.
Kailan is currently pursuing her B.F.A. in dance at N.Y.U., double-minoring in Child and Adolescent Mental Studies and Social Work. In her teaching approach, Kailan believes that each student has something unique to offer and is passionate about using dance as an outlet for creativity and self-expression. She loves watching her students grow throughout the year and strives to create a collaborative, encouraging, and engaging class environment. Kailan is excited to continue mentoring the next generation of movers.
